I remember mentioning this game to someone, might have been Steven. Allegiance is a free online strategic space combat sim, similar in vein to a game like Natural Selection. One person takes the role of commander, and the other players follow their commands. The difference is, it's in space, with ships and asteroids and stations n stuff.
There is apparently a very very very steep learning curve to the game, but it looks like it'd be rewarding. Flying capital cruiser ships into enemy territory, with other players flying escort or manning gun turrets, sounds like something out of a wet dream.
Unfortunately, BIG ASS UNFORUNATELY, I can't get the game to run on my computer! Well it runs, but it's hella unstable, it usually degenerates part way through the tutorials. The sound will go all funky, and when I try to quit, it restarts my computer. Figure that one out. I checked on their forums, and I'm not the only one with the problem. I can tweak the game so the sound thing doesn't pop up, but my computer still restarts.
That might have been why this game didn't do so well. It's been out for many years now, but there is still only a very small yet devoted following for the game. If this sounds like your sort of thing (I certainly know it's MY sort of thing), check it out.

I saw a chick driving some random sport. Wasn't a civic, I didn't recognize the style. Anyways, it had a purplish silver base coat with tribal-tattoo style red and black flames skirting it. And all the windows had a deep cherry red tint on the upper half. It did not gradient/fade to clear, it simply cut off halfway down. Messed up. I wonder if she uses it to pick up guys?
