Everyone's heard of this hot item, available with the purchase of a new Gamecube. But there are two slightly lesser known methods of acquisition. One, you can subscribe to Nintendo Power. The other, sign up for MyNintendo and register your cube and games.

Well, I was bored, so I decided to sign up just because. I registered my Gamecube and my GBA SP, but I couldn't find any of those PIN cards that are supposedly included with new games. So I thought I undershot the requirements to receive the disc.

However, I just received the following email;

Congratulations!

By registering your system and your games via Nintendo's online product
registration, you have qualified to receive the following:
LEGEND OF ZELDA: COLLECTORS GAME DISC

It will be shipped to you via First Class Mail. Please allow up to 2 weeks
for processing and shipping.

Your award will be shipped to the following address:

xxxx xxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxx,xx xxxxxx

If you need to update your address information, please log in to your
My Nintendo account at https://www.nintendo.com/cpp/profile/addressBook.do
as soon as possible.

You will receive another e-mail from Nintendo once your order has been
shipped to you. Thank you for your interest in Nintendo products!

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.

So, for about maybe a half hour of work (had to remove my GB player to get at the S/N), I just got myself the Zelda collector's disc. 0wned!

Umm.... I can't find anywhere to register stuff on that lousy site. (Now that I'm finally able to actually log in.)

Yeah, it took some looking around for me to find it, so I bookmarked it.

I find this hilarious, although the rest of you are probably going to kill me;

Hello,

Thank you for registering your Nintendo GameCube at Nintendo.com.

We wanted to make you aware of an error in our product registration
program. In order to qualify for the Zelda collector's disc, we
requested that two software titles be registered in addition to a
Nintendo GameCube system. However, due to a programming error, you
received an e-mail letting you know that you had qualified for the
Zelda collector's disc before all required products had been
registered.

We wanted to let you know that despite the error, we have gone ahead
and sent you the disc as stated in our e-mail. It was sent via the
postal service and should be received in 3-5 days.

If you haven't yet registered any software titles, please be sure to
do so in order to be eligible for future promotions that are in the
works at Nintendo!

Thank you.

oooOo! that's good! I hope you can save your game in Zelda II! I really hate starting from the first, the game is mother fucking hard... to me at least.

You'll be able to save the same way you've always been able to save.
