Hey Steve, may as well buy that 360 now. Looks like the Silent Hill franchise has been handed over to an American developer that fought hard as fans for the chance to do the series justice, and judging by the video, they're more than coming through on it.

I dunno... I'm pretty skeptical. The parts of the game that look similar to old Silent Hill look really nice, but it's what they add or change that will determine the outcome. The advance combat (which does make sense given the lead is a military man) will make the player feel like a capable fighter. Part of what I love about horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill is that the main character never feels totally capable. The controls are always a little bit off, making you feel like you have a disadvantage. I spose it can be frustrating at times... but they way they describe feeling like they are able to take on large groups of enemies... if I feel like that while playing the game, why would I ever be afraid?

But then there's the horror themes that American companies always use, like children and whatnot, that are obviously gonna be important in this one. I dunno, I'll keep an eye on it, and maybe try to download/finish Silent Hill 4 on PC in the meantime.

Kind of unrelated, but does anybody here post or blog on 1up.com? I've been registered on the site for almost 2 years and it'd be cool to add some friends that I actually know in real life. I got mark jeffery to create an account but I don't think he's even been to 1up since...:(
